Android is usually installed on smartphones and tablets, though it has been ported to various other platforms, including X86. You can get the modified version that you need from the Android x86 website. You’ll notice from the picture below that there’s a few to choose from. If you’re using a laptop or notebook, choose the Asus Laptops/Notebooks ISO. If you’re using a desktop PC, or if the Laptops/Notebooks ISO doesn’t work, download the Asus EEE PC ISO. Once it has finished downloading, put it somewhere that is easy to find.</li></ul><img alt="Android for PC" data-recalc-dims="1" src="http://i1.wp.com/techod.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/android-for-pc.png?resize=635%2C251" title="android-for-pc" /><br /><h2>How To Install Android On PC</h2>The next step is the installation. There’s a couple of ways to install Android on PC, the first one I’m going to show you is by using a virtual machine called VMware. It’s ideal if you just want to try Android on your PC, and it’s quick and easy.<br />VMware allows you to install and run numerous different operating systems (OS) on top of your current OS without any potential changes to your current OS configuration. If you would prefer to install Android permanently on a physical hard drive, USB HDD, or USB Memory Card, you can skip steps 1, 2, and 3, and proceed to the next part.<br /><h3><b>Step 1:</b></h3><ul><li>First, download VMware Player, then install it the same way as you would with any other software, following the on-screen instructions. Once it’s installed, you will see a welcome screen.</li></ul><h3><b>Step 2:</b></h3><ul><li>On the welcome screen, click ‘Create New Virtual Machine’, then click the ‘Browse’ button and select the Android ISO file that you downloaded in step 1, as shown in the picture below.</li></ul><img alt="How to install android on pc" data-recalc-dims="1" src="http://i1.wp.com/techod.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/how-to-install-android-on-pc.jpg?resize=635%2C492" title="how-to-install-android-on-pc" /><br /><h3>Step 3:</h3><ul><li>On the following screen, name the VM whatever you want. Click <b>next</b>, then again to use the default disk space. After you click finish, the virtual machine will power on and you’ll see a setup screen the picture below. Read on to find out how to install Android on a physical hard disk or USB memory stick.<br /><h2>How To Install Android On PC Hard-Drive or USB Memory Stick</h2>Installing Android on a PC’s Hard-Drive, or on a USB memory stick, is very similar to the steps above, but first you must download and install UNetbootin.<br />For the purpose of this guide, we’ll assume that you’re installing it on a USB memory stick.<br /><ul><li>Insert your usb memory stick and run UNetbootin. After selecting the target disk, UNetbootin will extract Android from the ISO file and install it on your disk. It might take few minutes.</li></ul><img alt="unetbootin-installation" data-recalc-dims="1" src="http://i0.wp.com/techod.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/unetbootin-installation.png?resize=635%2C465" title="unetbootin-installation" /><br /><h3>How To Boot Into Android</h3>Now that Android is installed on your USB stick or hard-drive, you just need to boot from that disk.<br /><ul><li>With most PC’s, you can keep pressing <b>F12</b> on your keyboard repeatedly right after you power on the PC, until you’re shown a boot menu.
